We met early one morning at Canning Bridge in Applecross, and used the character filled bridge as well as the revamped foreshore near the Raffles as our backdrop. Michelle and Jake were married earlier this month in the gazebo at Sittella Winery in the Swan Valley. Weddings in the Swan Valley provide a completely different setting and feel, even though you are only 30 minutes out of the city. We then stayed on the stunning grounds of the vineyard for their bridal party portraits, walking through the vineyard as the sun started settting. This was a first for us, and also a first for Mary-Rose's church on a hot January afternoon. The St Mark and St George Coptic Orthodox Church in Wanneroo celebrated their first wedding, and we hope it is the first of many more as it is such a stunning building. The wooden doors were brought over from Egypt, and then interior has stunning chandeliars and is light and welcoming. After the wedding ceremony was complete, close family and friends escaped to the cool of Wanneroo Botanic Golf for some group photos in the beautiful gardens before the bridal party headed down to Fremantle in their white Chrysler from Wicked Limos. We used the classical architechture of the old buildings in Fremantle for our photoshoot with the bridal party, always a fantastic spot to go. Then it was time to head to their reception at Frasers, or the State Reception Centre as it is now known. The view is stunning from the balcony, and being a warm night all the windows were open to give an open air feeling to the reception. |

We were introduced to Jo and Kirk by Natalie from Carte Blanche Wedding Design last year. As their Sandalford Winery wedding is getting closer, they took the opportunity to have some casual portraits together, with their adorable daughter, Tia, at Cottesloe Beach recently. A pre wedding portrait session can be a great way to get used to someone being there taking your photo, especially if you've never had professional portraits done before. We had a great time down at the beach with this little family, luckily being a weekday we had most of the beach to ourselves as we made sandcastles and walked along the waters edge…such a tough workplace for us You will see some more of this lovely couple in another month or so, once their big day arrives!

One of our favourite venues, Frasers Restaurant, is having a Twilight Open Evening on February 24th. This is a great chance for wedding and commercial clients alike to check out the new State Reception Centre amongst the other function areas you can hire. This time of the year definately seems to be the wedding expo season in Perth! Compose Photography will be attending the Perth Bride Wedding Expo, which will be held at The Hyatt in Perth on Sunday 26th February. Kristen and Aaron were married on a warm January afternoon at Matilda Bay. There was a breeze coming off the Swan River, and the shade provided by the huge moreton bay fig tree provided a cool relief for their guests. Their ceremony, conducted by Doug Booth (who we last worked with at Laura and Sam's wedding) involved their parents and all the guests, and there were plenty of laughs in the crowd. After the ceremony we travelled in their vintage wedding car from A Old Limo just across the road to UWA for some photos with their bridal party. There was then a quick stop off at the Blue Baotshed before we arrived at their reception venue, the fabulous Acqua Viva in Nedlands. There was a stunning sunset when we took a few last shots on the jetty. |

Khabeer and Margarita were married in early January at the Cottesloe Civic Centre on the main lawn staircase. Their ceremony was performed by Steve from The Celebrant Perth with the couple sharing vows they had prepared for each other. We then travelled with their bridal party to UWA with Craig from Launch Films for some photos before their wedding reception at the Astral Ballroom Burswood. |

Tom and Shannon were married just before Christmas at St Aidan's Anglican Church in Claremont. They then travelled in style in their stretch Rolls Royce to UWA for some photos with their bridal party, and then there was one last stop off at Mettams Pool before we arrived at AQWA, the venue for their wedding reception. Once the guests had finished their pre dinner drinks in the underwater tunnel it was our turn to have fun chasing sharks, turtles and rays around for some photos. |
